THE COLLEGE OF SAINT ROSE
Campus Electrical Distribution System
|
Project at The College of St. Rose to consolidate numerous campus buildings to a single, more reliable electrical service with diesel generator backup. Project involved converting several 208/120-volt building services into a common 480/277-volt service. The new service was provided through new 3000 amp switchgear that utilizes electronically controlled circuit breakers to automatically and manually transfer load between utility and generator power sources. The service entrance equipment of all of the buildings connected to the new service were modified to accommodate the higher voltage service level. Emergency power consisted of a 2MW diesel powered generator with sound attenuated, weatherproof enclosure and integral load bank. A new underground conduit distribution system was part of the project to route the new power feeds and future telecom services.
